Mental Health Matters!

On the 30th May 2019 South Yorkshire Police Branch of UNISON will be spending the day at Atlas Court.

This day will be the launch day of our branch campaign Mental Health Matters. We will be running this campaign until the 10th October 2019 which is World Mental Health Day, where we will be hoping to hold Tea and Talk events at various locations to raise money for MIND. We hope to encourage you all to become actively involved.

We need to end the stigma and let everyone know it’s ok not to be ok, especially within South Yorkshire Police.

Our objectives will be to:

Raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing, raise awareness of the support available to police staff

  • As employees of South Yorkshire Police
  • As members of UNISON

Raise awareness of MIND Blue Light Programme

We will be providing advice and guidance on how you can support someone with a mental health problem and explain how you can look after yourself and others as well as information on UNISON’s charity There For You. The whole branch will be floor walking throughout the day and will be on hand to listen to any issues you have, vent any frustrations and even do a brew run……

Free hot and cold drinks will be available as well as chocolate and fruit to keep you going!
