International Control Room Week

International Control Room Week is to recognise and celebrate emergency service control room employees that often go unnoticed and quietly deal with traumatic, life changing situations daily.

The 22nd to 28th October 2018 is a week dedicated to celebrating the achievements of truly remarkable people who are at the end of the phone when we need them, keeping us calm, reassuring us and updating us. They stay strong, supporting us through the most difficult of times.

For every mention of #UnsungHeroes across social media during 22 – 28 October, APD Communications will donate  £1 to the Mind Charity

Mental health calls into the control rooms are at an all-time high, volumes have grown by a third since 2011-12. This coupled with the unique pressures of the job, causing nine in ten emergency services employees to experience stress, low mood and poor mental health at some point, makes supporting and raising money for MIND a real chance for us to help change lives and leaves a lasting legacy.
